It is astounding how much money can be raised from things we throw away! The Lions International Stamp Club presented a cheque for $4,600 to the Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation at the Canberra Convention [2013]
Two Lions members from our district (201C1) were awarded OAM in the Australia Day awards listed in the Advertiser on Australia Day.

The Peace Poster District Final was conducted in a different format this year. Usually, the posters are displayed at the District Convention with Lions casting their votes. This year, the district final was an event in its own right which proved to be a big success.

The COVID-19 virus has had a major impact on communities worldwide. Australia is no exception, and like most service clubs/charities fund raising has been hit significantly. Remember all funds raised by the ALCCRF go to funding Childhood Cancer research projects in Australia.

The recent Regional Lions Leadership Institute was held in Adelaide on February 22-24. Thirty-three participants attended the three day event from around Australia, with six from the C1 district from four clubs.
How many members have been asked if women can join Lions? Unbelievably there is still a misconception in some parts the Community that Lions is male only. We, as members of this great service organisation, need to let everyone know that women are welcome to join local clubs.
On Sunday 28th October 2018 the West Beach Lions and Fulham Riverside Lions Club Branch hosted, on behalf of C1 District, a Women in Lions Forum. It was held at the Airport Over 50’s Club at Fulham and was attended by 40 plus people.
Our District holds a district convention each year, hosted by a different club. Around 200 Lions and partners traveled to Port Augusta for the 201C1 District convention.

Zimbabwe is one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the world, and one local community group has made it a priority to provide aid and improve the living conditions of the country’s people.
The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide was honoured to be the host club for the 2017 Lions 201 C1 District Convention which was held on 6-8 of October, 2017.
