The Phil Report (June 2019)

Phil Bowman and his bannerette

Hi everyone

Just returned from the Council of Governors Meeting and the MD Convention in Geelong. Great to catch up with friends again and enjoy the many sessions in the program.

I guess of note to C1 was the entry of Georgia Thomas into the YOTY Quest, after winning the State Final between C1 and C2 in Berri. She did very well although against top opposition with entries from 5 other Districts.

So far we have held 2 Club Leadership Forums with 75 attending the Metropolitan Session in Elizabeth and 40 attending the Rural Session at Port Pirie.

Be great to finish this year with some great numbers attending the Port Lincoln day.

This month we have lost a couple of our members in Lion Lawrence Linke from Barossa and Lion Lyne Skin-ner from the City of Adelaide previously with Unley.

DG Elect Kevin shortly heads off to the UK for a break prior to joining the other 750 DGE’s at the final train-ing and then attending the International Convention in Milan Italy.

We wish Kevin well for his trip and hope that he “enjoys the ride” as DG of 201C1 as much as I have.

Don’t forget the District Handover on Saturday 13 July in the Gumeracha Town Hall, contact Acting Cab Sec Yvonne for reservations.

Finally our numbers seemed to be turned around with Mawson Lakes Branch having lifted to 22 and ready to Charter. Looks like we have turned around a couple of our not so healthy clubs as well, with Coober Pedy on the way up again.

Following some great work by VDG Tony Pederick we may be able to revise Unley and also turn the Salisbury Club into positive numbers.

Look forward to catching up at the many Club Handovers that I will be attending this coming month.

Best Wishes
DG Phil
