Dear Lions,
I must congratulate Port Pirie Lions Club on the opening of the Liberty Swing for the Handicapped and wheelchair people, in the Port Pirie area. Its was great day and to see the look on the kids faces was wonderful, well done Lions.
Well the Convention is over and done and by all accounts was a very good one, the weather was perfect, and thank you to all the Members of Bute, Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta Lions Clubs for making it a success it was. The reports I am getting from C1 and C2 Lions it was a very enjoyable weekend. The next Convention will be 2020 MD in Adelaide next year hope to see you there!
I have just finished all my official club visits, which means I have over the 3yrs visited all the clubs in C1, and I must say you are all different but the same, if you get my meaning, this sort of means I am available for requests or special events.
I did attend the opening of the Camp Quality Caravan at the West Beach Caravan Park and had the pleasure of handing over the keys to Kylea Tink CEO of Camp Quality, this was a project taken on by the West Beach Lions Club which entails the complete replacement of van and annex and thanks to Zig and members of the club, families of cancer victims can spend a few days down on the beach.
On the same day as I was heading back to Wallaroo, saw the bushfires on the York Peninsula at Price heading down the coast, and then the big one at Yorktown and Stansbury, did get in touch Stansbury Dalrymple Lions Club to see if they needed any assistance and at that stage all was under control. I and PDG Tom Martin did take a few boxes of Lions Cakes down to be distributed among the people affected by the fire. Also was shown the new Catering van to be used at events in the area by the Lions Club.
I will be attending Council Meeting in Jan next, also 1st VDG Tony will be attending as this is part of his DG training before he heads of to Chicago to be the next DG.
That’s about all ! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year but above all be safe
