From DG Meg Butler

Meg Butler at Convention

Greetings everyone – this is my last bulletin article as my year as District Governor draws to a close and very shortly we welcome a new District Governor to lead the District for 2018/2019.

My year has certainly flown and as I reflect on the last year, I have so many memories that there is not enough room here to write them all down.

I will share some of those memories at the handover on 21st July including some of the photos we have taken.

Peter and I are attending the International Convention in Las Vegas where the first female International President – Gudrun- will be inducted and where DGE Phil Bowman will also be inducted.

Membership is still an issue, however our member numbers are 1204 as I write this article. We started on July 1 2017 at 1220 members so our drops have not been as dramatic as some other Districts. However I had hoped we would have been out of transition but alas it was not meant to be. Maybe next year.

Thank you to all clubs and members for your support over the last 12 months. We have met lots of passionate Lions members in great clubs. Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the handover on July 21st.

Thank you for everything you do for your club, community and District.

DGE Phil and Jeanette – have a wonderful time in Las Vegas and good luck for the coming year.
