The Phil Report (May 2019)

Phil Bowman and his bannerette

Hi April already,

Just heading to MD Convention in Geelong. Decided to drive because of the flight difficulties into Avalon.

Well this month has been a busy one going from one end of the state to the other.

What a great day was by all at the Minlaton 50th Anniversary lunch with special mention given to PDG Tom Martin who is the remaining charter member, sensational achievement.

Just the day before I was in Berri for the C1 & C2 State Final of the YOTY. An again what a sensational group of talented students we had on the day.

We were very fortu-nate to have repre-senting C1 Georgia Thomas who took out both the Overall Win-ner and Public Speak-ing. Well done Geor-gia and we’ll catch up with you in Geelong for the MD Convention and the Nation-al YOTY Final.

But it wasn’t over then because I was heading to Mawson Lakes for the induction by Gilles Plains President Ted Os-born of 5 new members of the Mawson Lakes Club Branch. And whilst we were there the club also received another 4 applications for membership. So, we are just about ready to Charter, which is a great achievement by the Branch.

So I’m looking forward to the final Council of Governors to be held in Geelong over the first week in May.

Don’t forget that we started our Club Leadership Forums this month with Port Pirie and Port Lincoln remaining.

I’m sure The Editor Ted has some pics of the first Forum held in Elizabeth.

Don’t forget the District Handover on Saturday 13 July in the Gumeracha Town Hall, contact the Torrens Valley Club for reservations.

Best Wishes and looking forward to catching up in Geelong.
